The main content of this master’s thesis is identification of biological threats and analysis of present means of aerodrome biological control, description of their effectiveness and possibilities of usage. Furthermore the way of bird strikes recordkeeping and innovative means, devices and procedures of aerodrome biological control considering the required safety level are mentioned.
Laboratorní test disasortativního párování u hraboše polního - literární rešerše
BÍLKOVÁ, Pavlína
Petrásková P. (2019): Laboratorní test disasortativního párování u hraboše polního - literární rešerše [Laboratory test of disassortative pairing in the common vole - literature search. Bc. Thesis in Czech]-49 pp. , Faculty of Sciences, University of South Bohemia, České Budějovice, Czech Republic. The aim of this work is to use the literature research to map current knowledge about the effect of odour preference on reproductive success in mammals focusing on voles. As assortative pairing is referred to each form of non-random pairing. Most of the time is meant a situation in which individuals who have similar phenotypes pair more often. The opposite is the situation where individuals with different phenotypes pair more often. This is sometimes referred to as negative assortative or disassortative pairing. In particular, this study deals with non-random pairing among to body odour . These are mainly linked to genes for the major histocompatibility complex (MHC) in animals, which play a key role in the immune system. MHC gene products found in various body secretions form the specific odour of each individual. In the research part were searched question for following questions: How is the breeding partner chosen? Is Assortative or Disassortative Pairing More Frequent? What information does body odour convey? What channels is the odour information transmitted and received? How is odour preference testing solved in laboratory conditions? In the practical part, a plan of the experiment is presented in which T-labyrinth will play the main role in determining the odour preference. Under laboratory conditions, voles will have plenty of time to complete the process
Semantic function of the mammalian tail in the design of anal pole of the body
Baxa, Marek ; Komárek, Stanislav (advisor) ; Kleisner, Karel (referee)
The tail in mammals is an important organ, which in contrast to most vertebrae, doesn't add to the motor function of their bodies. The use of the mamals' tail is much more varied and it can fulfill many different functions. This work includes a survey of these functions and analyzes collected data concerning 553 spieces of mammals across all families. The data includes information about the length of tail, the length of body, body mass, living environment and outer signs on the anal pole of these species. The resulting analysis concludes that the tail length is dependent both on the length of the mammal's body and its living environment. Outward signs of the tail depend on its length as well as the length of the body and the living environment. Distinctive tail ending and tail base probably fulfill a communicative function. The tail is more likely to have communication than cryptic significance.
Individual variation in vocalization of Carnivores
Švůgrová, Barbora ; Linhart, Pavel (advisor) ; Vokurková, Jana (referee)
For carnivorans, as well as for other groups of animals, it is very important to be able to recognize other individuals. In this thesis, I focused on individual vocal variation in carnivoran's calls. I reviewed studies which desribed individual variability of calls in carnivorans. I focused on studies which used diskriminant analysis to quantify individual variation in calls. I updated the review of Insley et al. (2003) who suggested that the ability of individual recognition is more advanced in the Otariidae compared to Phocidae. My quantitative comparison on individual variability of Otariidae and Phocidae voices shows that the reason could be that Otariidae have more individually distinct voices. Furthermore, I compared the inidivuality in calls of other carnivorans. The comparison results do not support the hypothesis that animals living in groups have individually more variable voices than the animals living solitairy or in pairs. However, individuality seems to be influenced by ontogeny as it is easier to individually recognize calls of adults than calls of juveniles. In general, there have been many studies published about vocal individuality in carnivorans, but most of the research was done on just two very social families: Otariidae and Phocidae. It is necessary to study other carnivora...

Vyhodnocení migrační propustnosti krajiny pro velké savce a návrh ochranných opatření
Agentura ochrany krajiny a přírody, Praha ; EVERNIA s.r.o., Liberec ; Výzkumný ústav Silva Taroucy pro krajinu a okrasné zahradnictví, v.v.i., Průhonice
Vytyčení migračních směrů, mapování reálných koridorů v rámci hlavních směrů a analýza dat o rozšíření zájmových druhů.
